Position Overview

The ideal Client Services Associate will cultivate and uphold robust connections with members and colleagues while executing standard teller operations. This role involves processing memberships, handling checking and loan applications, and establishing new services for members. Additionally, the representative will identify opportunities to recommend and promote new credit union offerings that align with members' financial aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure confidentiality of member and credit union information at all times.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Develop and maintain various reports utilized across the organization.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all credit union products and services, including credit criteria, necessary documentation for loans, and interest rate calculations.
  • Operate Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) and cash recyclers efficiently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to initiate and guide loans through to successful closure.
  • Manage the opening, updating, and closing of various account types.
  • Provide assistance to colleagues as needed.
  • Evaluate challenges and make independent decisions in accordance with established credit union policies.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a strong focus on member service.
  • Understand and adhere to vault policies and procedures.
  • Effectively manage a fast-paced environment while multitasking.
  • Utilize computer applications proficiently.
  • Respond to incoming calls and offer expertise when members contact the automated system.
  • Maintain a clean and organized branch environment.
  • Possess intermediate mathematical skills for calculations, including the use of decimals, ratios, and percentages.
Candidate Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a customer service role, preferably within a financial institution, involving cash handling and direct customer interaction is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
