Position Summary:

We are in search of a Field Service Technician who will operate primarily from our designated location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and support customer teams during the installation of our machinery at their facilities.
  • Diagnose technical issues and provide timely solutions to customer inquiries.
  • Train customers on the proper operation and upkeep of equipment.
  • Advise customers on service options and spare parts procurement.
  • Conduct maintenance, preventive measures, and post-sale support.
  • Keep detailed records of activities through daily reporting.
  • Adjust PLC programs, HMI interfaces, and multi-axis robotic systems.
  • Repair or enhance various network systems and safety circuits.
  • Set up and prepare new machinery for initial operation.
  • Travel to client locations to troubleshoot packaging machinery.
  • Propose enhancements or modifications to improve machine reliability and efficiency.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, exceeding 80% of the time.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 2 years of experience in a field service role, with consideration for a combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience with PLC and servo systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with multi-axis robotics is advantageous.
  • Experience with vision-guided robotics is a plus.
  • Proficiency in motion control systems is required.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
  • Potential to act as a motivator and leader.
  • Professional demeanor, communication skills, and appearance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, ABB Flex Picker Robots, Fanuc Robots, Schneider PLCs, Motion Control, Fanuc Pick Tool, and Cognex Vision.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical understanding of industrial machinery.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Must possess dexterity and coordination for tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as keyboarding and operating machinery.

This role necessitates 100% travel, including day trips, overnight stays, and extended trips, often with little prior notice. To effectively serve our clients, Service Technicians may be required to work overtime and may need to adapt to various shifts based on customer needs.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Capability to kneel, crouch, and stoop. Proficiency in reaching above and below shoulder height. Ability to use hands for grasping, twisting, and pulling. Capacity to climb ladders and work at heights. Walking and stair climbing are essential.
