About This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate hospitality sales professional to join our team at the avid|Holiday Inn & Suites in Mt. Juliet, TN.

As Director of Sales, you will create and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients, ensuring hotel revenues meet or exceed budgets, while developing a growing mix of business that enhances the hotel's value and bottom line.

The ideal candidate will display effective listening and communication skills, initiative, ability to work independently and in teams, and lead by example. They must exercise good judgment and discretion, display effective problem-solving skills, and provide excellent customer service.

The following responsibilities are key to this role:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and maintain a marketing plan, sales budget, and market segment strategies to prospect business
  • Sales Training: Provide sales training to front office staff
  • Revenue Management: Participate in revenue management calls and strategies
  • Sales Appointments: Schedule and complete sale appointments
  • Community Involvement: Attend local business and community events
  • Negotiations: Negotiate hotel rates for LNR accounts based upon room night volume and day of week arrival/departure dates
  • Group Sales: Secure group business for hotel, blocking rooms, sending contracts, and follow up on cut-off dates
  • Event Coordination: Work with operations team to greet group events
  • Guest Support: Assist guests with plans for meetings, schedules, and monitors meeting functions, conducts property tours, and explains amenities
  • Follow-up: Assist with follow-up on room lists, direct bill, and other requirements of previously booked business
  • Sales File Maintenance: Maintain sales files and ensure accurate entry in sales system
  • Daily Planning: Organize work week to include a strong prospecting plan each week targeting business for needed hotel dates
  • Lead Facilitation: Facilitate inside sales leads
