Adecco Creative and Marketing is collaborating with a leading fashion brand to recruit a Merchandise Planner for their retail operations.

This role offers a hybrid work model. You will be required to work onsite multiple days a week, with flexibility for remote work.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Merchandise Planner will analyze and interpret performance metrics across various product categories, specifically focusing on private label brands. By leveraging product performance insights, the Planner will contribute to the strategic growth and profitability of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and sustain a rolling 13-month forecast while minimizing surplus inventory.

  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Planning to address all opportunities and challenges.
  • Establish revenue targets and provide financial planning support for all purchasing activities to ensure effective category penetration.
  • Work alongside the VP of Planning to align forecasts with retail and ecommerce financial strategies.
  • Offer recommendations to resolve product gaps and discrepancies.
  • Oversee ongoing demand planning and inventory requirements for both retail and ecommerce sectors.
  • Accountable for comprehensive reporting, including weekly sales performance, production plans, and inventory assessments.
  • Compile detailed selling data at the style/color/size level for merchandising and inventory planning initiatives.
  • Provide continuous analysis and ad hoc sales reporting to facilitate in-depth evaluations of current sales programs.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams (sales, design, warehouse, and production) to accurately predict inventory needs, revenues, returns, promotions, and markdowns.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance forecast accuracy, develop action plans, and ensure follow-through.
  • Manage the budgeting process, including product mix and monthly flow forecasts for key replenishment programs.
  • Oversee inventory management from investment through execution, including ongoing evaluations and updates for retail, ecommerce, and wholesale operations.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory and shipping statuses to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Formulate and implement strategies for size, pack, and balance optimization.
  • Ensure all new program setups and ongoing replenishment orders maintain high fill rates and timely arrivals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in merchandise planning and allocation, with a preference for knowledge of retail operations.
  • Proficiency in retail mathematics is essential.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with a proactive and organized approach.
  • A collaborative team player with problem-solving skills, capable of making informed recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
