Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC). As a key member of our Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative solutions to our customers in the aerospace and defense sectors.

Job Summary:

The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for planning and executing multiple integrated plans for product development, including coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to release. This role requires strong project management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project strategies to meet customer requirements and deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate and manage project activities, including resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and develop products that meet customer needs and industry standards.
  • Manage project risks and issues, and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and customers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and typically 12 or more years of technical experience.
  • Expert knowledge of engineering principles and practice.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of requirements management, system design, and integration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Typically 6-8 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience.
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers.
  • Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management.
  • Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative.
