Long-Term Healthcare Facility - Position Overview
This role focuses on the administration of resident health records and the management of supply inventory in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. The position also entails the procurement of essential supplies for the facility while maintaining budgetary constraints.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in central supply management is preferred
- Experience in a long-term care environment for at least 2 years is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding is preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the medical records department effectively
- Ensure the protection of resident health information and uphold confidentiality standards
Primary Tasks:
- Retrieve and deliver resident medical records as needed
- Organize and file information within resident charts
- Collect, assemble, verify, and maintain resident charts
- Correct any incomplete records and ensure proper completion prior to filing
- Extract necessary information for insurance and other relevant entities
- Transport medical records as required
- Respond to inquiries regarding medical records and prepare necessary correspondence
- Maintain and organize both active and inactive records
- Assist in completing portions of death certificates
- Keep logs and manage request forms efficiently
