Fleet Technician Job Summary

To ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet, we are seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to join our team at Sysco. As a Fleet Technician, you will be responsible for performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on our vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Learn to perform FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and light-duty vehicles.
  • Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on all fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions on vehicles and equipment, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Document all work performed on work orders using a complaint, cause, and correction format.
  • Develop efficiency in Sysco computer programs and learn new skills and technologies.
Qualifications:
  • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training or equivalent experience.
  • Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
  • Basic knowledge and skill of all vehicle systems and components.
  • Basic knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on all equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge.
Working Conditions:

The Fleet Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, often in non-traditional business hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The associate may occasionally be required to travel to other operating companies or the corporate office as business needs dictate.
