Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teacher Aide to join our team at Caddo Parish School District. The successful candidate will assist teaching staff in a classroom setting, providing support to students and teachers alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • Discuss assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
  • Prepare lesson outlines and plans in assigned areas and submit them to teachers for review.
  • Develop and present teaching aids such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs.
  • Present subject matter to students using various methods and techniques.
  • Administer and grade examinations.
  • Assist students with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Assist teachers with student behavior and discipline.
  • Confer with parents on student progress.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of two years of college education (48 hours) including 9 hours of Mathematics and 9 hours of English, or an Associate degree or higher.
  • Some previous experience working with children is preferred.
Language Skills

You will need to be able to:

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of students or parents.
Work Environment

This role requires you to work in a fast-paced classroom environment with occasional loud noise levels.

You will be expected to maintain a high standard of professional conduct, including:

  • Not neglecting your duties.
  • Not engaging in dishonest or unlawful activities.
  • Not engaging in acts that are contrary to Caddo Parish School District policy.
