We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Specialist to join our team at OpenAI. Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to enhance brand reputation and address critical issues related to AI.
- Provide strategic counsel and support to team members across the organization, focusing on risk mitigation and proactive messaging.
- Anticipate and identify communication risks and develop strategies to address and mitigate these risks.
- Lead the creation and execution of integrated communication plans, including rapid response strategies, media statements, and external materials focused on key topics.
- Build and maintain deep relationships with media and manage inbound requests, particularly those involving high-stakes issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Research, Legal, Product, and other teams at OpenAI to ensure alignment on communications.
- 10+ years of professional PR and media relations experience, with a strong emphasis on corporate and/or crisis communications; in-house experience is a plus.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex, technical information into clear, persuasive, and accessible content for external audiences.
- Experience working closely with legal teams on communications related to corporate and litigation issues.
- Familiarity with AI technologies or a strong personal interest in the field of artificial intelligence.
- Proven success in building relationships and collaborating with press, executives, partners, and other stakeholders.

CompensationThe base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to the salary range listed above, total compensation also includes generous equity and benefits.
