About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Patient Service Representative to join our team at PATHS Inc. As a key member of our dental team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and update patient demographics, eligibility, and insurance information
  • Maintain patient Sliding Fee Scale status and update registration annually
  • Enter medical, pharmacy, transportation, and ancillary service visits into the electronic medical records system
  • Obtain record release signatures from patients and follow up to ensure receipt of records
  • Explain PATHS services, patient policies, and procedures to patients
  • Educate patients on the use of the patient portal
  • Check in patients and prepare electronic charts for visits
  • Collect payments for services and explain charges to patients
  • Work with the Billing Coordinator to maintain knowledge of insurance policies and verifications
  • Answer patient questions regarding accounts, referral appointments, and upcoming office appointments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date appointment systems
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Preferred: Medical office and terminology experience, experience working in a federally qualified health center (FQHC), and experience using eClinicalWorks electronic health record (EHR) system
