Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our Physical Therapy Program as a tenure-track professor. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service, with a focus on developing and delivering high-quality educational programs in physical therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, including developing and delivering curriculum, assessing student learning, and providing feedback.
  • Conduct research and scholarly activities in physical therapy, with a focus on advancing the field and contributing to the academic community.
  • Participate in service activities, including committee work, academic advising, and professional development opportunities.
  • Engage in collaborative teaching and learning activities with colleagues, including interprofessional education and team-based learning.
Requirements
  • Earned degree in physical therapy (e.g., MPT, DPT) from an accredited college or university.
  • Completed or anticipated timely completion of a terminal doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years (5 or more years preferred) teaching experience in physical therapy education settings.
  • Evidence of professional development in the areas of teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge around working with an interprofessional healthcare team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years teaching experience in the academic setting in some capacity.
  • Preferred in-depth knowledge of adult cardiopulmonary and/or neurologic physical therapist practice/scientific knowledgebase (in-depth knowledge of additional areas of physical therapist practice/scientific knowledgebase strongly encouraged).
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Hours
  • Must be able to sustain positions for periods of time and move about a classroom and/or campus for extended periods of time.
  • May need to lift supplies of up to 20lbs per item.
  • May be required to be available to students via phone, email or other means of communication during nights and weekends.
