Job Summary

As a Convention Services Manager at Crescent Hotels & Resorts, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing events and conventions at our hotel. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of various departments to service accounts, including directing room service and coordinating with sales, front office, and reservations.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and ensure that their events are executed to their satisfaction.
  • Establish rapport with meeting planners and promote hotel facilities and services.
  • Assist sales staff in promoting the hotel, developing leads, and securing rebookings.
  • Plan and conduct pre and post-convention meetings with clients and respective departments.
  • Document tracking of group activity and access and input data into a computer system to generate account history reports.

Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience working in the hospitality/events planning industry in sales and/or marketing.
  • Ability to communicate in English and maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of lighting and sound equipment and usage, as well as ability to utilize a moderately complex computer system.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
