Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team at Jobot. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our company, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and contributing to financial decision-making processes that drive our business growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, producing financial reports or statements as needed.
  • Oversee budget and financial management, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, assign, and review staff's work, ensuring timely completion and quality of tasks.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or CPA is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief, or senior accountant.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Expertise in QuickBooks is mandatory.
  • Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
