Job Title: Registered Nurse I

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse I to join our team at Northern Light Health. As a Registered Nurse I, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to our patients and their families.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse I is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering patient-centered care to assigned patients. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and effective patient care by using best practices during hand-off communication and when reporting patient care information.
  • Perform and document systematic assessments according to established criteria.
  • Recognize and respond to abnormal diagnostic data and report to appropriate providers.
  • Develop and maintain a professional and personable relationship with patients, families, and staff.
  • Treat patients with courtesy and respect.
  • Utilize theoretical knowledge base to operationalize care.
  • Documentation is accurate and complete, reflecting adherence to hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Complete population-specific mandatory education competencies as defined by the unit-specific scope of service.
  • Provide culturally competent care to patients and families.
  • Provide patient-centered care.
  • Practice is consistent with Northern Light Health policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrate awareness of evidence-based practice.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and all members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement the plan of care and identify resources to meet patient care needs.
  • Identify and communicate changes in patient conditions that may impact unit staffing levels or the provision of safe patient care.
  • Contribute to a healthy work environment by exhibiting professional behaviors and seeking assistance in addressing interpersonal conflicts.
  • Seek assistance from colleagues in the daily care of patients on the unit.
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team to maximize patient care.
  • Utilize available resources in an appropriate manner and seek assistance when needed.
  • Take responsibility for meeting education and mandatory programs by completing clinical evidence-based competencies and member-specific competencies.
  • Maintain an up-to-date personal educational file to demonstrate compliance with educational requirements.
  • Actively participate in the peer review process.
  • Demonstrate and articulate awareness of performance improvement initiatives.
