Job Description

At Great Wolf Resorts, we are seeking a highly skilled Sales Manager to join our team. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for strategically targeting high-margin sales opportunities and converting them into sales wins, achieving assigned goals and contributing to the overall success of the Lodge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Comprehensive Outbound Prospecting Strategy: Secure new and existing group room and event business by targeting shoulder and off-peak groups.
  • Increase Market Share: Effectively network, research, and develop business to target, solicit, and win new business.
  • Convert Group and Meeting Inquiries to Sales: Respond quickly, utilize exceptional sales skills, and provide diligent client service to convert inquiries into sales.
  • Represent Great Wolf at Local and Regional Trade and Travel Shows: Promote Groups brand and uncover new opportunities in accordance with Lodge strategy.
  • Build and Maintain Key Client Relationships: Generate repeat business and lifetime value by building strong relationships with clients.
  • Prepare Compelling Group Proposals and Sales Materials: Create proposals and sales materials that result in sales wins.
  • Deliver on Assigned Group Room and Catering Sales Goals: Contribute to the overall financial success of the lodge by delivering on assigned sales goals.
  • Exercise Appropriate Authority to Negotiate Contracting Terms: Skillfully negotiate contracting terms, including pricing for meeting room rental and audio visual.
  • Submit Weekly Reports: Document sales activities, converted business, and pipeline progression in a weekly report to the director of sales and catering.
  • Create and Update Quarterly Sales Action Plans: Outline business development objectives and market segment strategy in quarterly sales action plans.
  • Provide Consultation and Advice to Clients: Offer consultation and advice to clients on all aspects of lodge facilities and services when proposing and contracting groups and events.
  • Monitor Room Blocks and Communicate with Property Personnel: Communicate with property personnel on a weekly basis regarding group room pick-ups, rooming lists, etc.
  • Represent the Lodge in Investigating and Resolving Group Complaints or Conflicts: Investigate and resolve any group complaints or conflicts, including billing issues, misplaced items, reservations, and contract discrepancies.
  • Complete Banquet Event Orders and Resumes: Communicate specific needs, contracted/agreed-upon details, and pricing for the meeting, event, or program in Banquet Event Orders and Resumes.
  • Provide Detailed Information on Meeting-Specific Needs: Offer detailed information on meeting-specific needs throughout the entire booking process from negotiation through departure.
  • Enter Accurate Rooming Lists, Routing Information, Tax-Exempt Status, and Verification of Payment: Enter accurate information in Company software systems.
  • Maintain Posting Master Account Ledger: Keep track of all open PM accounts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hotel/Hospitality or Related Field: Equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Minimum 4 Years in Sales with Specific Experience in Hospitality Event/Conference Sales: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Successful Completion of Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen: Successful Department of Motor Vehicle check.
  • Professional Communication Skills: Both verbal and written.
