Job Title: Mental Health Counselor II

Job Summary:

Comprehensive Life Resources is seeking a qualified Mental Health Counselor II to join our team in Tacoma, WA. As a key member of our behavioral health services treatment team, you will provide counseling services to clients using evidence-based techniques and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated healthcare.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical counseling to assigned clients using Motivational Interviewing and cognitive behavioral techniques.
  • Work as part of a clinical care team to provide integrated health care for clients.
  • Provide support and counseling to clients' family and natural supports as appropriate.
  • Be prepared to respond to client crisis as appropriate or needed.
  • Complete mental health assessment, provisional diagnosis, and risk assessment, reviewed and confirmed by a master's level mental health professional, ARNP or psychiatric provider.
  • Work with clients and multidisciplinary team to develop a treatment plan and track progress in achieving goals.
  • Complete other clinical paperwork in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Keep records up to date and in compliance with WAC, Title XIX and agency requirements.
  • Ensure that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor with WA Department of Health by possessing a Bachelor's Degree in an approved social sciences field and a minimum of 5 years experience in behavioral health service delivery under the supervision of Mental Health Professional.
  • Must have computer/technology skills enabling successful navigation and documentation in an electronic health records, emailing and using basic phone applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license; proof of insurance.
