POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility is to deliver and coordinate respiratory care services under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Therapist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Monitor and assess patient responses to basic respiratory services.
  • Develop, implement, and adjust respiratory treatment plans in accordance with clinical pathways and physician orders.
  • Provide non-clinical support for oxygen delivery, suctioning, and basic tracheostomy setups.
  • Interpret insurance documents and medical records accurately.
  • Maintain detailed records of ongoing patient care in both written and electronic formats.
  • Coordinate and execute PAP setups, mask adjustments, and assist with equipment repairs.
  • Perform basic respiratory procedures, including CPAP and BiPAP setups.
  • Deliver and instruct patients and caregivers on the safe use of respiratory equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Manage all equipment maintenance records as required.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary prescriptions and medical necessity forms for insurance billing.
  • Conduct in-service training for staff on respiratory equipment.
  • Gather required customer or insurance information.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and maintain the database as needed.
  • Respond to service calls and assist with DME deliveries as required.
  • Provide customer service support for patient inquiries and equipment issues.
  • Be available for on-call assignments, including nights and weekends.
  • Possess a reliable vehicle for home visits.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS: To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate professionalism, proactivity, and a positive attitude towards both customers and colleagues.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; a medical-related degree is preferred.
  • One year of experience in durable medical equipment or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance with a clean driving record.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in data entry and computer usage.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical requirements for this position include the ability to sit, talk, and hear regularly, with occasional standing and walking. The employee may need to lift or move up to 25 pounds and must be able to drive in various weather conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role involves working in office settings, healthcare facilities, and patient homes.
