POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility is to assist in the delivery and coordination of respiratory care services under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Therapist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are essential functions of the role, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to basic respiratory interventions.
  • Develop and adjust respiratory treatment plans based on clinical guidelines and physician orders.
  • Provide non-clinical support for oxygen therapy and basic respiratory setups.
  • Interpret insurance documents and medical records accurately.
  • Document patient care activities in detail, both in writing and within relevant databases.
  • Facilitate PAP setups, mask adjustments, and assist with the maintenance of patient-owned equipment.
  • Perform basic respiratory procedures, including CPAP and BiPAP setups.
  • Deliver and instruct patients and caregivers on the safe use of respiratory equipment.
  • Assist in quality assurance and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Educate customers on infection control practices in compliance with regulations.
  • Complete necessary documentation for equipment management and insurance billing.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff regarding respiratory equipment.
  • Gather required patient or insurance information for service provision.
  • Handle service calls and provide customer support for patient inquiries.
  • Be available for on-call duties, including nights and weekends.
  • Maintain a personal vehicle in good condition for home visits.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS: To excel in this position, candidates should demonstrate professionalism and a proactive approach in interactions with customers and colleagues.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; a medical-related degree is preferred.
  • One year of experience in durable medical equipment or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance with a clean driving record; background check required.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient data entry skills and computer literacy.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands of this position require the ability to sit, talk, and hear regularly, with occasional standing and walking. The employee may need to lift or move up to 25 pounds and must be able to drive in various weather conditions.
