About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Sales Lead Footwear to join our team at DICK'S SPORTING GOODS INC. As a Key Carrying Lead, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and leading by example to drive sales and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager in executing brand standards and providing direction to teammates.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a customer-first approach and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the job.
  • Build and maintain a strong team by observing in-store interviews and department tours, and by connecting with every teammate to build mutual trust and respect.
  • Plan, organize, and control daily assignments, game plans, projects, or store events with the guidance of the Assistant Store Manager.
  • Strategically leverage teammates to ensure brand standards are met, programs and processes are executed daily, and tasks are delegated based on priority level.
  • Assist the store leadership team with general supervision in the store, including opening and closing the store, performing Front End and Cash Office functions, and processing firearms sales in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards by following established floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation and replenishment standards.
  • Assist with training teammates on company procedures and programs, including onboarding new teammates and cross-training current teammates.
  • Maintain company loss prevention standards and controls in their department.
  • Prioritize coaching and developing oneself and others, providing hands-on coaching and teaching the 'why' behind tasks, plans, and processes.
  • Lead by example to support the vision of the organization and store, helping teammates understand how their responsibilities directly align to the common purpose, organizational goals, and delivering an exceptional shopping experience.
  • Create an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome and safe and is treated with respect.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekend, and holidays
  • Prior retail sales experience (or customer-focused experience)
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 15 to 35 lbs. items repetitively
  • Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking
  • Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with use of a ladder, aerial lifting device, or platform
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously)

Targeted Pay Range: $19 - $27. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience, and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
