Position Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient working environment within the distribution center. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance team, responding promptly to service requests, and implementing performance improvement strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify areas for operational enhancement and assist in the development of performance metrics.
- Collaborate with management to analyze reports and adjust departmental plans accordingly.
- Set daily objectives for the maintenance team.
- Monitor performance through on-site observations.
- Review staffing requirements and adjust as necessary based on operational demands.
- Create work schedules that align with preventative maintenance needs.
- Conduct audits and analyze results to make informed adjustments.
- Ensure comprehensive training is provided to all maintenance personnel.
- Support safety initiatives to minimize workplace injuries.
- Work with management to maintain compliance with safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records related to facility insurance and maintenance activities.
- Assist in budget management for the maintenance department.
Qualifications:
- Strong ability to interpret technical documents and manuals.
- Proficient in basic mathematical calculations.
- Familiarity with cash handling and inventory management practices.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to address various challenges and problem-solve effectively.
Experience and Education:
- Minimum of two years in a supervisory role within a maintenance setting.
- Experience in automated distribution environments is preferred.
- Technical training in mechanical, electrical, or related fields is advantageous.
