Catholic Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient admission, including reception, equipment preparation, vital signs, and orientation to surroundings.
- Perform direct patient care, including personal hygiene, safety, comfort, and skin care, while anticipating patient and family needs.
- Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding as directed, distributing water and other nourishments as needed.
- Assist and/or transport patients in a timely and safe manner, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Collect and transport specimens, maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Support the preparation process for the Operating Room, demonstrating a timely and efficient approach.
- Transport patients to the Critical Care Unit, ensuring safe and timely transfers.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant program, BOCES, Military Hospital Corps School, or equivalent, or completion of medical/surgical experience within an RN program.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
