Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

The Judge Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance department in their food manufacturing facility in Columbus, GA. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of maintaining equipment, ensuring food safety, and managing staff and resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance schedules and task assignments.
  • Ensure food safety and compliance by coordinating activities and conducting regular audits.
  • Manage staff and resources, including supervising and coaching maintenance technicians and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Budget and efficiency: contribute to the development and maintenance of the maintenance department budget and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communication and collaboration: effectively communicate with production teams and liaise with vendors and contractors.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food industry maintenance supervision.
  • Proven understanding of preventive maintenance practices and principles.
  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP) and sanitation procedures.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills to motivate and develop a maintenance team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems (preferred).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) a plus.
