Position Overview

A small family-owned financial office is looking for a dedicated part-time Accounting Specialist to manage essential bookkeeping tasks. This role requires in-person attendance in a home-office environment. The successful candidate will oversee the financial records related to investments in commercial properties. Ideal applicants will possess meticulous attention to detail, relevant bookkeeping experience, and a desire for a flexible work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Download and categorize bank and credit card transactions using QuickBooks for various entities.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts.
  • Generate and update regular financial reports, budgets, and tax documents in QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate filing systems, both physical and digital.
  • Oversee insurance policies for multiple real estate holdings.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and yearly tax documentation and payments.
  • Manage the payment of incoming bills, including property taxes.
  • Track and record all internal and external loan payments.
  • Assist with the business aspects of household management.
  • Handle payroll and payroll tax responsibilities for 1-2 employees.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Ability to work independently with confidence.
  • A degree, certification, or substantial experience in accounting and bookkeeping is required.
  • References from previous employment are necessary.
Work Schedule:
  • 20-25 hours per week.
  • Flexible hours available Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • This position is office-based; remote work is not an option.
Compensation:

Hourly wage ranges from $25 to $35, depending on qualifications and experience.
