Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Operator to join our team at Johns Manville. As a Production Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and contributing to the production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate and support JM core values and deliver the JM experience
  • Conduct activities such as stacking product, cutting feet material, sampling product, moving materials by hand, operating a forklift, emptying trash carts, and completing preventative maintenance work tasks
  • Assist with start-ups, monitor production lines, and begin to learn other key positions
  • Understand finished product specifications and apply proper product labeling procedures
  • Identify different products produced and read and identify different tapes for all products
  • Know warehouse locations for product storage and unload and move material in a safe manner throughout the plant
  • Follow and complete all safety requirements, including Pure Safety and Monthly Safety Actions
  • Take an active part in Daily Safety Huddles and accurately and consistently swipe at scheduled times
Requirements
  • At least one year working in a warehouse/production environment
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure, work instruction, and finished product specifications
  • General math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages
  • Beginner to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Solid communication skills, including written and verbal communication
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Understand Root Cause Corrective Action Process and have strong decision-making skills
  • Exceptional team player and able to drive a forklift
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to manually lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics
  • Use of hands, including repetitive motion, grabbing, feeling, sensing, and pulling
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment
  • Ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures
  • Ability to withstand the rigors of working a 12(or 8)-hour rotating shift schedule
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel repetitively and reach or work above the shoulder
