Job Summary

The Middlesex Corporation is a leading heavy civil construction company seeking a skilled Office Engineer to join its team. As an Office Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the project management team by coordinating daily construction activities, managing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the project management team in coordinating daily construction activities, including submittal and logging of shop drawings, coding labor and equipment, and entering work quantities.
  • Receive, log, and file project correspondence and shop drawings, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Accumulate daily project quantities of work and record in project control documents, providing accurate and up-to-date information to the project management team.
  • Assist with material deliveries, coding materials, labor, and equipment, and interface with vendors and subcontractors as needed.
  • Compile routine correspondence as requested by the project management team, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Review and code delivery slips and purchase orders as needed, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist the project management team with all aspects of cost management for the project, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the civil construction industry, preferably in an office engineering or project coordination role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
