About the Position

The Commonwealth of Virginia's Antonin Scalia Law School is seeking a highly motivated and organized Admissions Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our admissions team, you will play a critical role in planning and executing recruitment outreach and engagement with prospective and admitted students.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and engage with prospective students, including creating and sending targeted communications and managing our recruitment calendar.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Department to implement our communication strategy and create engaging marketing materials, including emails and social media content.
  • Assist with planning and executing annual recruitment programming, including open houses and workshops, and serve as a representative of Scalia Law at local and national recruitment events.
  • Manage our recruitment database and update it as necessary, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on prospective and admitted students.
  • Process travel reimbursements and coordinate contracts with local hotels for student accommodations.
  • Review applications and render decisions, working closely with the Assistant Directors to ensure a smooth and efficient admissions process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in higher education and/or customer service, with a strong background in recruitment, event planning, and admission counseling.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to interact with persons at all skill levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer databases, with experience using ACES2 or Banner a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to independently manage and complete work assignments without close supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with admissions, student recruitment, and/or enrollment management.
  • Knowledge of law school curriculum and missions, with the ability to think critically and provide solutions to difficult problems.
