Position Overview
As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Radiation Therapy Specialist is responsible for delivering precise radiation treatments to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
Department Details
- Department: Radiation/Oncology
- Schedule: PRN (as needed) Days
Key Responsibilities
- Administer radiation therapy by accurately targeting specific areas of the patient's body with prescribed doses.
- Prepare and position patients while selecting anatomical parameters with precision.
- Collaborate with physicians and dosimetrists to deliver effective treatment plans.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all therapy sessions.
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of essential equipment, including linear accelerators.
- Adhere to regulatory agency standards in all activities.
- Ensure high-quality submission of images and documents to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history.
- Assist in keeping the department clean, safe, and organized, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Current BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer required.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiation Therapy credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required within 24 months of hire or transfer.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
