About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Schwan's Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities and team at our Deer Park, Texas facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities, including predictive maintenance, equipment repair and rebuild, electrical, refrigeration, grounds equipment, noise control, and maintenance training programs.
  • Plan and schedule routine maintenance, diagnose and repair issues, and ensure that maintenance is performed to maximize available run time.
  • Monitor breakdowns, determine needs, and assign resources to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
  • Keep upper management informed of issues that affect the performance of the department.
  • Review equipment to ensure all safety devices are properly installed and ensure that parts and equipment inventories remain at approved levels.
  • Supervise employees, including skills development, safety, housekeeping, policy administration, discipline, employee relations, cost control, and problem-solving.
  • Adjust daily work schedules as needed to meet production requirements and ensure that all company, state, and federal requirements for food safety are met by maintenance employees.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience, including previous supervisor experience.
  • Knowledge and skills in general construction, electrical systems, electronic systems, microprocessors, mechanical systems, and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Working knowledge of food plant production and processing equipment, occupational hazards, safety, EPA regulations, USDA, and sanitation standards.
  • Basic PC skills, including expertise with MS Office and Outlook; SAP experience beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and basic mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work any shift and be on 24-hour call for emergency situations as necessary.
