About the Role

Talent Vision is seeking a highly skilled and passionate STEM Educator to join our team at a charter school in New Jersey. As a STEM Educator, you will play a vital role in inspiring and engaging students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Create innovative and interactive lessons that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Facilitate Hands-on Learning: Provide students with hands-on experiences and facilitate inquiry-based learning to develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Establish a Collaborative Classroom Environment: Create a classroom environment that encourages collaboration, experimentation, and creativity, fostering a love for STEM subjects.
  • Utilize Technology and Resources: Leverage technology and resources to enhance instruction and engage students in STEM-related projects, staying up-to-date with current research and best practices.
  • Assess Student Learning: Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student growth.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and promote cross-curricular connections, enhancing the overall educational experience.
  • Stay Current with Industry Developments: Stay updated with current research and best practices in STEM education, participating in professional development opportunities to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Encourage Student Participation: Encourage student participation in extracurricular STEM activities, such as science fairs, robotics clubs, or coding competitions, promoting a love for STEM subjects.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Establish positive and inclusive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and the wider community, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress, ensuring seamless communication with parents/guardians and school administrators.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Certification: Valid teaching certification in STEM Education or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Prior teaching experience, specifically in STEM instruction, is strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Deep knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts, passion for STEM education, and strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Technology: Experience with hands-on, inquiry-based teaching strategies and familiarity with educational technology tools and their application in the classroom.
  • Personal Qualities: Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners, excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and strong organizational and time management skills.
