Soaring Heights Charter School is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Science educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a current Science and/or New Jersey teacher certification and have a passion for sparking creativity through real-world engineering projects.
Responsibilities and Duties- Plan, present, and assess lessons based on the curriculum and state standards.
- Supervise students in class, between classes, during lunch and recess, and on field trips.
- Enforce school and class rules to create a calm and relaxed teaching/learning environment.
- Keep current records for classes, including attendance and grades.
- Prepare for lessons by getting materials ready or setting up equipment.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Teaching Certificate - Standard or Certificate of Eligibility.
- Strong quantitative background.
- Demonstrate empathy and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent classroom management abilities.
- Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage for full-time staff.
- Salary: $53,000.00/year with opportunities for additional financial compensation.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- State teaching license in the relevant field.
- Knowledge of STEM best practices.
- Empathy and great interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel.
- Experience working with children and adolescents.
