We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to join our team at GlaxoSmithKline. As a key member of our Medical Matrix Team, you will play a critical role in developing and executing medical strategies for our respiratory assets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Execute Medical Strategies: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement medical strategies that align with commercial asset goals.
- Contribute to Medical Matrix Team: Work closely with the Medical Matrix Team to tailor global asset strategies for the US market and provide strategic oversight of US tactical plans.
- Align Asset Positioning and Evidence Planning: Ensure alignment of asset positioning and evidence planning with overall therapeutic portfolio and disease area strategies.
- Engage with External Communities: Engage with external communities to advance scientific and medical understanding, including the development and use of our medicines, disease management, and patient care.

- Develop Product Strategy: Develop product strategy for local Medical Advisory Board and Expert Panel meetings, consultancies, medical grants, and publications.
- Support Medical Information: Support Medical Information on FAQs and standard response letters.
- Ensure Sound Medical Governance: Ensure sound medical governance for all activities.
- Healthcare Doctorate: Possess a healthcare doctorate (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP, NP, PA).
- Pharmaceutical Industry Experience: Have 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- US Healthcare Environment Experience: Have experience working in a US healthcare environment.
- External Stakeholder Management: Have experience managing external stakeholders.
- Medical Affairs Accountabilities: Have experience working in medical affairs accountabilities, evidence generation, external HCP engagement, and providing internal advice.
- Medical Affairs, Scientific Director, or Medical Director Experience: Have 3-5 years of experience in medical affairs, scientific director, or medical director roles.
- Respiratory Disease Area Expertise: Have experience in the respiratory disease area and demonstrate expertise in medical and/or clinical areas.
- Excellent Communications Skills: Possess excellent communications skills.
- Ability to Influence and Drive Change: Demonstrate the ability to influence and drive change, proactively looking for new opportunities and anticipating the need for change.
