Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and determine necessary parts for repairs; review repair orders and estimates; adhere to warranty protocols; inform supervisors of any additional repair needs.
- Perform adjustments, replacements, and repairs on various vehicle types (including sheet metal, fiberglass, structural welding, and electrical repairs).
- Conduct road tests on vehicles as needed to ensure quality of repairs.
- Stay updated on technical skills and manufacturer repair processes.
- Execute work as specified in repair estimates efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
- Disassemble and inspect vehicles for hidden damages or additional repairs.
- Communicate with body shop estimators regarding any further damage or delays in repair timelines.
- Guide apprentice technicians and maintain necessary certifications.
Qualifications:
- Experience in welding, suspension, and framework is advantageous, or a willingness to learn.
- Preferred ASE Certifications in Damage Analysis, Mechanical and Electrical Components, Non-Structural Analysis, and State Vehicle Inspection.
- Relevant certifications or equivalent experience with a desire for continuous improvement.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
