We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our anesthesia care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Responsibilities- Provide anesthesia services under the direction of an anesthesiologist, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care.
- Assist with pre-anesthesia functions, including determining patient suitability for anesthesia and reviewing patient medical history.
- Perform post-anesthesia duties, including monitoring patient recovery and administering post-operative pain relief.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Provide education and guidance to anesthesiologist assistant students under the direction of the Anesthesiologist.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Master's Degree in Anesthesia.
- Anesthesiologist Assistant license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA-C) certification issued by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while managing multiple demands. You must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during work shifts. You will be required to use foot pedals on carts or machines and will be exposed to various hazards, including mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood, and body fluids.
