Ideal candidates should possess a valid Nevada Medical License (M.D., D.O.).

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Physician Reviewer/Advisor applies their clinical knowledge to assess, interpret clinical treatment protocols, and evaluate the medical necessity of services or treatments proposed by other healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with client-specific guidelines, nationally recognized evidence-based standards, and care protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts thorough reviews of medical documentation, addressing each inquiry based on client-specific or recognized evidence-based criteria.
  • Provides a clear and concise rationale for decisions, supported by adequate documentation.
  • Utilizes current criteria and resources, including national, state, and professional association guidelines, as well as peer-reviewed literature, to ensure objective decision-making; avoids reliance on limited case studies.
  • Delivers comprehensive reports and any criteria used in the review in a timely manner.
  • Submits cases by the specified deadlines.
  • Completes mandated calls or call attempts as required by state or client specifications.
  • Maintains necessary credentials, licenses, and certifications to fulfill the role of Physician Reviewer/Advisor.
  • Participates in required training and orientation sessions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, including identifying and addressing potential quality assurance concerns, complaints, and regulatory matters.
