Consultant in Neurological Surgery

This position offers a telecommuting opportunity for medical professionals seeking additional income through a flexible caseload tailored to individual schedules. Our panel of physicians consists of independent contract reviewers who are compensated on a per-case basis.

Ideal candidates should possess a valid Nevada Medical License (M.D., D.O.).

The Physician Reviewer/Advisor leverages clinical knowledge to assess, interpret clinical treatment guidelines, and provide opinions on the medical necessity of proposed or rendered services by other healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with client-specific policies, nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines, and standards of care.

• Thoroughly reviews all medical documentation and addresses each inquiry using client-specific criteria or other nationally recognized evidence-based standards.
• Ensures that determinations are well-reasoned, concise, and supported by adequate documentation to justify the decision.
• Utilizes current criteria and resources, including national, state, and professional association guidelines, as well as peer-reviewed literature, to support objective decision-making and rationales in reviews; avoids reliance on case studies or cohorts due to their limited sample sizes.
• Delivers reports and copies of any criteria used in the review in a timely manner.
• Submits cases by the specified due date and time.
• Completes calls or call attempts as required by state and/or client specifications.
• Maintains necessary credentialing, licenses, and any special certifications while adhering to the requirements essential for the role of Physician Reviewer/Advisor.
• Participates in mandatory orientation and training sessions.
• Performs additional duties as assigned, including identifying and addressing potential quality assurance issues, complaints, and regulatory concerns.
