Consultant in Neurological Surgery

This is a remote opportunity designed for physicians seeking supplemental income, allowing for a caseload tailored to your availability. Our panel consists of independent contract reviewers who are compensated on a per-case basis.

Ideal candidates will possess a valid Nevada Medical License (M.D., D.O.).

The Physician Reviewer/Advisor leverages clinical knowledge to assess, interpret clinical treatment protocols, and provide insights on the medical necessity of services or treatments proposed or rendered by other healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with client-specific guidelines, nationally recognized evidence-based standards, and care protocols.

• Thoroughly reviews all medical documentation and addresses each inquiry based on client-specific criteria or other nationally recognized evidence-based standards.
• Ensures that determinations are well-articulated, concise, and supported by adequate documentation to justify the decision.
• Utilizes current criteria and resources, including national, state, and professional association guidelines, as well as peer-reviewed literature, to support objective decision-making and rationales in reviews; avoids reliance on case studies or cohorts due to their limited sample sizes.
• Delivers reports and copies of any criteria used in the review in a timely manner.
• Submits cases by the specified due date and time.
• Completes required calls or call attempts as mandated by state regulations and/or client specifications.
• Maintains necessary credentialing, licenses, and any specialized certifications, adhering to requirements essential for the role of Physician Reviewer/Advisor.
• Participates in mandatory orientation and training sessions.
• Performs additional duties as assigned, including identifying and addressing potential quality assurance concerns, complaints, and regulatory issues.

Dane Street facilitates all referral processes, manages scheduling, prepares cases comprehensively, organizes all medical records, provides transcription services as needed, coordinates all client communications, and ensures the quality and timeliness of all reports and their delivery.
