Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable General Maintenance Worker III to join our team at Skookum Aerospace Manufacturing. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs, and minor electrical work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning roof drains and gutters, replacing electrical receptacles and switches, fixtures, and bathroom exhaust fan motors.
  • Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings.
  • Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets, and caulk plumbing kitchen fixtures.
  • Communicate and interact directly with customers and supervisors, informing them of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints, and ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
  • Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
  • Communicate with the scheduler to update the status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
  • Follow all safety procedures and policies, and maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
  • Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, decks, stoops, and sidewalks.
Requirements
  • 3 years of facilities maintenance experience required.
  • Ability to learn a wide variety of building and ground maintenance required.
  • Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.
Physical Requirements

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements
  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
