Industrial Construction Vendor and Subcontractor Management Specialist

This role is responsible for supporting our project execution team throughout the preconstruction, construction, and postconstruction phases of work. The successful candidate will interface with clients, engineering and architectural discipline leads, project and construction management resources, and the legal team. The position will take direction from project execution team leadership and will be responsible for various tasks, including:
Preconstruction / Procurement Responsibilities- Identify and select suitable subcontractors and vendors for key project bid packages.
- Provide guidance to design teams to determine package scope breakdowns that best fit labor capabilities in a project location.
- Lead the subcontractor and vendor prequalification process.
- Drive improvements to the current prequalification process.
- Facilitate contract negotiations with subcontractors and vendors in collaboration with project management and legal teams.
- Manage preferred subcontractor and vendor relationships.
- Work with estimating teams to keep unit costs up to date with changes in the marketplace.
- Track, manage, and negotiate volume discounts and integrator-OEM pricing.
- Support project and construction management resources in managing underperforming subcontractors and vendors.
- Identify options for engaging additional subcontractors to support work that is behind schedule or replace underperforming subcontractors.
- Host 'Lessons Learned' meetings with clients and key project subcontractors to maintain and develop relationships and improve DG work processes.

- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Procurement experience with capital projects preferred.
- Ability to analyze purchase orders and contracts.
- Familiarity with engineering and architectural drawings and technical specifications preferred.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Exposure to construction site dangers and ongoing construction in various weather conditions on uneven terrain when on site.
- Exposure to noise levels that may range from moderate to loud when on site.
- Up to 10% of travel is required to visit the project site and other offices.
