Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Tech PRN to join our team at Universal Health Services. As a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech PRN, you will play a critical role in assisting cardiologists in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist cardiologists in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
  • Perform quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer, maintaining the integrity of our equipment and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Evaluate all orders, verify them with cardiologists, and ensure proper lab results and history for contraindications, if applicable.
  • Familiarize yourself with various interventional equipment and wires to assist cardiologists in performing procedures.
  • Interact with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts, identifying and assisting in resolutions.
  • Maintain performance skills, adhering to the highest standards of quality and patient care.
  • Work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status, as needed.
Qualifications
  • 2 years of prior Special Procedure and/or Radiographer experience preferred.
  • Membership in related professional organizations preferred.
  • Demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, attendance at required training, and immediate reporting of suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.
Education and Licensure
  • Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology.
  • Currently licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas.
  • Current ARRT Licensure (Technologists that are exempted from the ARRT certification must meet the requirement on Public Law).
  • Non-Radiologic Technologist must have active certification with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as an (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or (RCES) Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist.
  • Current certification in Interventional Angiography preferred.
  • Maintain current BCLS certification, according to unit-specific needs, in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider's Program.
