Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technician to join our team at Universal Health Services. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for assisting cardiologists in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Assist cardiologists in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, including coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions.
  • Perform quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Evaluate all orders, verify them with cardiologists, and ensure proper lab results and history for contraindications if applicable.
  • Interact with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in resolutions.
  • Maintain performance skills and adhere to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
  • 2 years prior Special Procedure and/or Radiographer experience preferred.
  • Membership in related professional organization preferred.
  • Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
Education and Licensure
  • Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology.
  • Currently licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas.
  • Current ARRT Licensure (Technologists that are exempted from the ARRT certification must meet the requirement on Public Law).
  • Non-Radiologic Technologist must have active certification with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as an (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or (RCES) Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist.
Additional Requirements
  • Current certification in Interventional Angiography preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current BCLS certification, according to unit specific needs, in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider's Program.
