Industrial Mechanic Job Description

Michelin is seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our team. As an Industrial Mechanic, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and performing mechanical and electrical maintenance to ensure maximum production while meeting product quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in preventive maintenance (PMs) to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Establish machine repair priorities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Understand and troubleshoot machinery in assigned areas of the manufacturing process.
  • Interface with production, quality, engineering, and support functions to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Use lockout/tagout procedures when working on equipment to ensure safety.
  • Responsible for timely technical progression to achieve job level expectations.
  • Appreciate the impact of maintenance repairs on quality, uniformity, the environment, and productivity.
  • Perform repairs and/or PMs that have a direct bearing on tire uniformity and quality.
  • Perform all duties assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • One or more of the following: 2-3 years' experience in a relevant maintenance position, Associates degree relevant to the open maintenance position, Journeyman's card relevant to the open position, Military Background with technical training relevant to the open position, or Must pass entry-level skills assessment in the craft relevant to the open position.
  • Must be able to pass a Company physical including a hair drug screen.

  • Level 1 pay $39.70, Level 2 pay after 120 days $41.27 (provided you are a Journeyman in your trade), plus $1.25 adder for shift pay.
