About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will serve as a liaison with customers, providing exceptional service and support throughout the onboarding process of new banking relationships. Your expertise will be relied upon to manage and monitor existing customer relationships, working closely with the business unit and other departments to ensure seamless execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Relationship Team to obtain and review information required for underwriting, documentation, and closing of commercial and industrial loans, construction and term loans, and deposit accounts.
  • Set up, process, and monitor documents and files for package completion, adhering to regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
  • Prepare data input sheets and provide required information for customer relationships to be boarded on our servicing system(s), maintaining accurate files for third-party review and audits.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and financial resources to obtain necessary documents, ensuring the financial institution's interests are protected in the credit relationship.
  • Establish and monitor loan and financial ticklers to ensure accuracy and timeliness, following up with customers to obtain necessary information.
  • Review and resolve customer problems/issues regarding bank products and services, facilitating processing of customer account maintenance and advance requests.
  • Responsible for GL Certification, including research, balancing, and certification.
  • Analyze property and liability insurance, title policy, and UCC searches to ensure compliance with bank policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and apply to designated job responsibilities, staying up-to-date on regulation changes.
  • Follow all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and complete required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others, teaching coursework as a subject matter expert.
  • Actively learn, demonstrate, and foster the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.
  • Take personal initiative and be a positive example for others to emulate.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in banking, loan administration, and documentation. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 4-7 years of experience in banking, loan administration, and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge in all areas of banking and lending.
  • Advanced arithmetic skills and the ability to read and write.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of commercial finance, law, documentation, accounting, and data systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to present information to others and/or train others.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage internal and external customer relationships.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages, such as Word and Excel, and other business machines.

This role is fully onsite, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
