Aircraft Seating Team Lead

Pilatus Aircraft Ltd is seeking a skilled Aircraft Seating Team Lead to oversee the fabrication of aircraft seating upholstery. In this role, you will provide effective leadership, support, and assistance to assigned team members, ensuring that all work is performed according to applicable regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and established quality standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize daily activities and team assignments based on production schedule and input from director
  • Fabricate and install aircraft seat covers, recognize and troubleshoot problems, and ensure that all materials are available to support assembly activities
  • Manage assigned parts and projects and maintain continuity of workflow by prioritizing work in a logical sequence, communicating priorities and schedules to team members, and ensuring the team works at a consistent and steady pace
  • Ensure all work is performed according to applicable regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and established quality standards and procedures, and notify appropriate personnel of any deviations
  • Maintain accurate records and documents and complete sign-offs in a timely manner
  • Ensure that deadlines and schedules are strictly adhered to and immediately notify director if delays or problems are anticipated or exist
  • Train new hires and apprentices to develop proficiency of skill sets
  • Complete timecard and time-off approvals and annual performance reviews for assigned team

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 5 years upholstery experience with aircraft seats or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Good math/reading skills and ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • High standards of accuracy and quality and ability to organize and plan work, adhering to deadlines
  • Self-disciplined, capable of handling multiple, simultaneous projects and tasks
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in restricted spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Regular attendance and willingness to work overtime and other shifts as required
  • Proficiency in general computer use and MS Office software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person in compliance with ITAR 22 CFR 120.62
