Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials and Processes Engineer to join our team at L3Harris. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing materials and processes engineering support to our engineering team lead.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support design process by providing material and process selection recommendations, reviewing design drawings, and participating in design reviews.
  • Conduct a variety of tasks, such as evaluating metal forming processes, metallic joining techniques, and corrosion protection methods.
  • Assess fluid compatibility, stress corrosion, and hydrogen embrittlement susceptibility.
  • Identify advanced materials and establish standards for experimental, test, and production purposes.
  • Perform laboratory and manufacturing experiments and interpret, analyze, evaluate, and report on data and processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree in Materials Engineering preferred.
  • Strong project planning, critical thinking, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, interpret, prepare, and issue drawings and related specifications.
  • Ability to use test and other measurement equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six Sigma knowledge and experience in the aerospace industry.
