DaVita is in search of a Patient Care Technician (PCT) dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals in an outpatient dialysis environment. As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at DaVita, you will embark on a rewarding career in the healthcare sector. After completing your training, you will collaborate with a holistic team of healthcare providers, including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and experienced PCTs, to deliver exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities:

  • No prior dialysis experience necessary
  • Training may occur in various facilities or training clinics
  • Flexibility to work across multiple clinics during and after training
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, including rotating Saturday shifts with Sunday off
What to Expect:
  • Direct Patient Interaction: Engage in one-on-one patient care to ensure safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatments.
  • Multi-Patient Care: Provide care for several patients throughout your shift.
  • Technical Responsibilities: Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including recording vital statistics and preparing hemodialysis machines. Note that exposure to blood and needles is part of the role.
  • Building Relationships: Develop long-term connections with patients undergoing treatment for end-stage renal disease, educating them on kidney dialysis topics.
  • Collaborative Team Environment: Work alongside a diverse team of clinicians, including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Qualifications:
  • A genuine desire to enter the healthcare field and assist those in need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Comfortable working with blood and needles
  • Ability to mix medical solutions as needed
  • Physical and mental stamina to work long shifts (some exceeding 12 hours) while on your feet
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics as necessary
  • Previous healthcare experience is advantageous, including certifications such as BONENT, CHT, CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomy certification.
