Job Summary

The Housing Supportive Services (HSSP) Community Worker is a direct service provider to Intensive Services HSSP adult clients and their families, functioning according to the Intensive Services process, and participating on the clients' multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outreach, support, advocacy, system orientation, mentoring, and other supportive services to clients.
  • Assist in the provision of services to clients by providing linkage and rehabilitation.
  • Work from a strengths-based, client-centered, team-driven, community-based perspective.
  • Practice solution-focused problem solving.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BA) in psychology, social work, or related field, together with at least six (6) months of experience working with clients in a social service position.
  • Or Bachelor's degree (BA) in non-related field, together with at least one (1) year of experience working with clients in a social service position.
  • Or high school diploma and two (2) years of experience working with clients in a social service field.
  • Or high school diploma and 1 year of experience working with chronically mentally ill adults in an Intensive Services Program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish Preferred (verbal skillset only).
  • Valid California driver's license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization's insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.
