Job Title: Large Loss Field Claims Adjuster

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Large Loss Field Claims Adjuster to join our team at American Family Insurance Claims Services (AFICS, Inc.).

Job Summary:

This is a lead-level role that involves investigating and maintaining complex property/casualty claims. The successful candidate will have a strong background in claim adjustment activities and be able to work independently with a high degree of competency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate the origin and cause of high-exposure claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation units, other adjusters, and public personnel.
  • Participate in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage issues and exposure.
  • Handle both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements.
  • Conduct on-site inspections when needed, evaluate damages, and handle claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, make appropriate decisions, and close files.
  • Interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and apply them to all parties for assigned losses.
  • Make independent decisions but recognize when assistance is needed.
  • Proactively provide all parties with the claim process and status as appropriate, answer questions, or redirect to other areas.
  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to handle 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively handle complex claims.
  • Extensive knowledge of policies and endorsements coverages.
  • Successfully applied knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.
Working Conditions:

This role requires frequent travel to customer locations, including homes, body shops, and other locations. The candidate must be able to work in a variety of environments, including tight and confined spaces, and be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $84,000.00 - $139,000.00, a comprehensive benefits package, and a pension plan. We also offer a student loan repayment program and paid-family leave. Interns and contingent workers are not eligible for American Family Insurance Group benefits.
