Job Summary

The IT Assistant is responsible for maintaining the hardware and software of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, ensuring the smooth operation of the property's computing and communication environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures in the operation of the IT department.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to all property departments in computing matters.
  • Develop and implement plans to resolve technical issues and improve IT operations.
  • Maintain best practices for IT policies and procedures for each user group.
  • Coordinate technical guidance to users in accordance with business needs.
  • Assist in the development of business process modifications and updates, including design and implementation.
  • Identify areas for improvement in existing systems and procedures, and implement new software and hardware solutions.
  • Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of user operational manuals, including checklists and procedures.
  • Continuously review and evaluate existing configurations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Administer and maintain the use of all cell phones and LAN phones throughout the organization.
  • Attend training courses to update and maintain technical competency in systems used in the business.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to IT activities.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the IT Manager, Corporate Director of Information Systems, or Executive Members.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure standards are maintained at a superior level daily.
  • Coordinate with vendors for support issues, utilizing knowledge of escalation structures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum one year experience in a similar role, with hospitality experience preferred.
Education
  • Computer technology degree preferred.

Technical Skills
  • Administrative level knowledge of all Microsoft Windows Desktop & Server environments.
  • Administrative level knowledge of all standard domain controller roles, roles, and protocols such as DHCP, DNS, WINS, file and print sharing.
  • Administrative level knowledge of all standard networking protocols such as TCP/IP, NETBUI.
  • Switch management knowledge, including VLANs, trunks, and switch configuration.
  • Power user level knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and Access.
  • Knowledge of communication systems, including smartphone devices and instant messaging technology.
  • Knowledge of network security systems, including hardware and software firewalls, antivirus software, antispyware software, Windows Update Server, and email SPAM filtering technology.
  • Knowledge of all Active Directory functionality.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server database maintenance.
  • Experience with remote management software, such as Logmein and Remote Desktop.
  • Experience with data backup and recovery software and tools, including DATTO backup systems with OnSite Backup Server and Offsite Backups.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Email & Suite.
  • Knowledge of cabling specifications and computer hardware repair.
Language
  • Required to speak, read, and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to exert physical effort in transporting 25 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.

  • None required, technical certifications preferred.
