Job Overview
Dewberry is currently in search of a Site / Civil Project Engineer to join our Land Development team.

This role is available in any of our Maryland offices, with the expectation of occasional travel to other Dewberry locations.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in civil design related to land development projects, which includes:
- Grading design
- Stormwater management
- Soil erosion and sediment control
- Design of public and private roadways
- Storm drainage and water & sewer systems.

The selected individual will integrate into a dynamic team that offers comprehensive land development services to a diverse clientele.

This position necessitates a strong understanding of the subject matter and extensive experience to guide projects from initial concept through to completion, encompassing design work, plan and permit processing, and construction phase services.

Key Responsibilities
The chosen candidate will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to design and develop construction plans for site civil and infrastructure projects. Specific tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Engaging with clients
- Preparing and overseeing construction documents (plans and specifications) and technical reports
- Conducting engineering analyses and cost estimations
- Ensuring quality control and assurance to deliver superior design outcomes.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Land Development Projects is required; five or more years is preferred.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is required; Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Maryland is preferred.
- Experience in preparing reports, exhibits, and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
- Proficient technical skills in various software applications, including but not limited to:
- AutoCAD
- Civil 3D
- MS Excel
- MS Word
- MS Outlook
- Adobe Acrobat.
- A solid understanding of civil site design for retail, commercial, residential, and urban redevelopment projects is essential.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D or other model-based software is advantageous.
- The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to deliver projects that meet technical specifications within established timelines and budgets.

Additional Skills
Candidates should possess the capability to perform and/or oversee civil engineering tasks on a variety of design projects across different market segments, with varying levels of complexity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Ability to quickly adapt to Dewberry’s engineering practices, standards, and proprietary software programs is essential.
