Position Overview: Ship Repair Project Manager

We are in search of a dedicated Ship Repair Project Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all facets of ship repair initiatives. This role demands a meticulous professional with robust project management capabilities, extensive knowledge of ship repair methodologies, and the capacity to effectively lead cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Formulate detailed project plans that encompass scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations for ship repair projects.
    • Collaborate with various departments to ensure cohesive and efficient execution of project activities.
    • Establish project milestones, deliverables, and schedules, managing the project lifecycle comprehensively.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Develop and oversee project budgets, accounting for labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
    • Track project costs and ensure completion within financial parameters.
    • Manage the procurement and distribution of necessary resources and materials for repair projects.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Guide and inspire project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
    • Promote effective communication and teamwork among all project participants and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure all repair operations adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
    • Implement and supervise quality control measures to uphold exceptional standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the primary liaison for clients and stakeholders throughout the project duration.
    • Prepare and deliver project status updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks associated with projects and devise strategies for mitigation.
    • Address and resolve any challenges that arise during the project to minimize disruptions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.

Position Requirements:

  • Extensive background and expertise in marine design, engineering, and manufacturing methods commonly utilized in marine construction and service.
  • In-depth understanding of ship construction, repair, and conversion, including various vessel types, systems, and components.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and guiding stakeholders toward realistic consensus while safeguarding relationships.
  • Strong familiarity with current regulations and standard practices of regulatory bodies, including USCG and classification societies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Project.

Compensation: Competitive salary range from $110,000 to $135,000 annually.
